Recipe: Sugar-free Cranberry Sauce for Thanksgiving

Sugar-free - vegan - paleo - gluten-free

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of cranberries
  • 2 apples, peeled or not
  • 2 dates, pitted and chopped
  • grated orange or lemon peel
  • water

Directions:

  • Put cranberries, chopped apples, and chopped dates into a saucepan.
  • Add just enough water so that it is just below or at the level of the cranberries and apples.
  • Bring to boil then reduce heat to simmer. 
  • Add orange/lemon zest as desired.
  • Cook until apples and cranberries are soft 10-15 mins

I made this recipe last Thanksgiving and it was a hit! Everyone loved it, some said, even better than the usual sugar-full cranberry sauce.
