Recipe: Sugar-free Cranberry Sauce for Thanksgiving
Sugar-free - vegan - paleo - gluten-free
Ingredients:
- 1 bag of cranberries
- 2 apples, peeled or not
- 2 dates, pitted and chopped
- grated orange or lemon peel
- water
Directions:
- Put cranberries, chopped apples, and chopped dates into a saucepan.
- Add just enough water so that it is just below or at the level of the cranberries and apples.
- Bring to boil then reduce heat to simmer.
- Add orange/lemon zest as desired.
- Cook until apples and cranberries are soft 10-15 mins
I made this recipe last Thanksgiving and it was a hit! Everyone loved it, some said, even better than the usual sugar-full cranberry sauce.
