8 pancake or waffle toppings that aren't sugary syrup

To make any pancake or waffle recipe sugar-free, substitute a blended banana for the sugar cane.

Butter

Organic grass-fed butter tastes the best.If you're vegan, use coconut oil. Don't use the butter substitutes like Earth Balance. Here's a great blog on why soybean oil is bad for your health with links to the exact studies they referenced to write the article (never trust a blog without links to PubMed studies).

Yogurt

Be sure to get plain unsweetened yogurt. We like the organic plain yogurt from Trader Joe's.If you're vegan, try Lavva brand no-sugar-added, plant-based yogurt. If your Whole Foods doesn't carry it, you can put in a request.

Fresh fruit

Summer: peaches and other stone fruits, strawberries, blueberries, berries, melonsFall: apples, fresh or warmWinter: citrus fruits like orange or tangerineSpring: late citrus, apricots, melons, rhubarb, early berries

Ricotta cheese

Stir cheese with freshly squeezed lemon for lemon ricotta

Warm açaí and blueberries

I warmed 1 packet of Trader Joe's açaí (sugar-free, yippee!) with a cup of Trader Joe's frozen wild blueberries over a saucepan on low heat.

Almond butter or cashew butter

Or any nut butter. Cashew butter pictured.

Applesauce

See my applesauce recipe here. It's so easy to make! Great use of apples that have lost their crispness.

Whipped cream from scratch without added sugar

Cream is sweet enough to go without added sugar. Just beat cream with a blender until it gets the right whipped cream texture.
