Recipe: avocado smash (for toast)

When I lived in NYC in 2015 I worked for a few months at an Australian cafe, Bluestone Lane. They introduced me to the wonders of Avocado Toast.Here's how they made the avocado part:

  • Avocados, sliced, pitted, and scooped out
  • Olive oil
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Stirred together until it's mixed together but there are still some avocado chunks.Top with (as desired):

  • Red pepper flakes
  • Feta cheese

This "avocado smash" was so good!! I still make it at home now. I put it on toast, on crackers, on chips, or on yogurt (for gluten-free peeps). Yes, it's delicious on yogurt!Here is avo toast with sesame seeds.
